The Walking Clinic would like to commend our Podiatrist, Romany Vonarx on her presenting a paper at the Victorian Podiatry Conference in Melbourne over the weekend. Romany conducted a study on the Supination resistance of the foot: a reliability study. Romany completed the research on reliability of a new novel device during her honours study in 2013. The study involved testing people with different foot types using two different measurement techniques and also compared the test results obtained by a novice podiatrist and an experienced podiatrist.
Both Ricky Lee and Romany Vonarx attended the conference in Melbourne. The conference was very rewarding, with a trade display showcasing new and innovative products, many complex case studies and interesting and relevant talks by keynote speakers. The Walking Clinic podiatrists were particularly interested in Dr Parm Naidoo’s presentation on the appropriate conditions requiring referral for x-ray and MRI in specific foot conditions.
Later in the year The Walking Clinic podiatrists Richard Lee and Kwang Hee Kim are travelling to the Queensland State Conference where Dr Kevin Kirby is presenting on contemporary issues in biomechanics and gait analysis. Stay tuned to hear the how they get on.
